The different classifications of modeling are given below.

Television Modeling: this involves modeling before the movie camera, to be used for TV commercials, cinema, video, Internet, etc. Modeling for video or films often includes some acting or dance and is mostly conducted in various locations. To make successful TV modeling you need to have a good flair for acting.

Print Modeling: Models generally pose for still photographs, which are used in print media, brochures, magazines, catalogues, calendars, etc. Models in print media have to work along with ad agencies and photographers.

Show Room Modeling: as the name indicates it takes place in the show rooms. Models are generally engaged by exporters, garment manufactures and big garment retailers to display the latest trends of fashion to the customers.

Live Modeling: This is usually called ramp or catwalk modeling. These events are organised to display the garments and accessories in front of a live audience.
These shows can be at an exhibition, or a fashion show, or at a show room. Ramp modeling, therefore, requires long hours of practice performing in a live show before an audience can be very stressful hence entails tremendous confidence and poise. Ramp models should have a good posture, walking style and body language.

Advertising Modeling: This is the area where both the print and electronic media have equal importance. The main purpose is either to promote or popularize a product. Advertising models appear in press ads, on posters, in TV commercials and advertising films. It is open to models of all age groups. Basic acting skills and a photogenic face are very essential.
